As the Summer Season edges closer to its grand finale, 23 Mavericks gathered this week, each looking to carve their name into the championship chase. With two double-points nights still ahead, the trophy remains anyone’s to claim — and the stakes are only getting higher.

Game One wasted no time in setting the tone. Candace Sutter, riding a red-hot streak, continued her surge with a table win, while Mike Soper locked down his own to join the early leaders.

Game Two reshuffled the deck as James Ramsey and Steve Thomson each claimed their tables, throwing the standings into flux and setting the stage for a pivotal Game Three.

Heading into the final showdown, three Mavericks — Candace Sutter, Rick Hoag, and George Pethers — sat tied atop the leaderboard, holding a slim two-point edge over Cliff Jones and James Ramsey. It was anyone’s night to seize.

Game Three unfolded with drama befitting the stakes. Ramsey was the first to falter, exiting his table early. Pethers followed soon after, leaving the spotlight on Sutter, Hoag, and Jones to battle for supremacy.

Sutter posted a respectable third-place finish at her table. Jones pushed hard and captured his, applying serious pressure at the top. But it was Rick Hoag, showing flashes of his former dominance, who rose to the occasion — taking his table and securing the nightly win.

🥇 Rick Hoag – a return to form and the win of the night
🥈 Candace Sutter – steady, consistent, and climbing the season ladder
🥉 Cliff Jones – a strong finish to stay in the hunt

The Summer Season leaderboard saw only minor shifts this week:

  1. Drew Bovee – holds the top spot

  2. Jim Elwart – steady in second

  3. Mike Nass – remains close behind

  4. Candace Sutter – breaks into the top four

  5. Mike Soper – rounds out the top five

But with next week marking the second Double Points Night, everything is in play. A single hot streak could turn the entire table on its head.

Rest up, Mavericks — the road ahead is fierce, and three tables strong await when Jeremy returns next week.
As always: be safe, play smart, and we’ll see you on the felts!
