Double Points, Double Drama: Iler Reclaims the Throne!

The stakes were sky-high as 20 Mavericks gathered at The Mayfield Tavern for the season’s first double points night in the Clash of Kings and Queens promotion. With the leaderboard tighter than ever, everyone showed up with one goal—make a move or get left behind.
From the moment the call rang out—"Shuffle up and deal!"—you could feel it in the air: this was going to be a night to remember.
Game One: Champs Come Out Swinging
Right out of the gate, the poker gods demanded their due—nut flushes were second best, and quads reigned supreme.
It was fitting, then, that reigning Winter Season champ Lewis Iler and former TOC champion Amanda Dudek took down their tables to grab the early lead. These two were clearly on a mission.
Game Two: The Field Tightens
In game two, Iler stayed red-hot, notching another win and cementing himself at the top. But James “The Aggravator” Ramsey had other plans and stormed his way to a table win of his own. Meanwhile, Dudek, ever-consistent, claimed a second-place finish—just enough to keep Iler in her sights.
Game Three: High Stakes, Cold Decks
Heading into the final game, it was a one-point race between Iler and Dudek, with George Pethers just three points behind and lurking.
But fate took a hard turn—Dudek bowed out first, unable to find traction at her final table. That left just two: Iler vs. Pethers, each battling on separate tables, each knowing what had to be done.
In the end, both players landed in third place at their respective tables, and that was all it took.
🎉 Lewis Iler secured the win for the night
🥈 George Pethers climbed to second
🥉 Amanda Dudek held strong in third
Also making the nightly top five:
🏅 Steve Herston – steady and sharp in fourth
🏅 Dale Pinson – sneaking into fifth with consistency
Standings Shake-Up
With double points in the books, the season standings got a serious shuffle:
1️⃣ Lewis Iler – returns to a familiar spot at the top
2️⃣ Mike Nass – still in striking distance
3️⃣ George Pethers – climbing fast
4️⃣ Amanda Dudek – always in contention
5️⃣ Steve Herston – making moves
What’s Next?
With two more double points nights still to come, there’s plenty of room for drama, comebacks, and heartbreak. If this week was any indication, the ride through the Clash of Kings and Queens will be nothing short of epic.
Until next time, Mavericks…
🎲 Good luck, and we’ll see you on the felts!
